sipping, to vote for the best looking bikes in the following categories: Open,

Giant Raffle on Sunday
Evening!
On
Sunday after the BBQ and cookout, plan on attending the awards ceremony and
raffle. We are collecting a number of great raffle prizes: Here is a list so
far:
Rider Spotlight: John Kucharik
Sr.
John
Kucharik Sr., a past Rally participant and father of John Kucharik Jr., a
long-time vendor at the Rally has died at the age of 93. He attended the Rally
many years and will be missed by all. Our condolences go out to John Jr. and
his family.
John
Sr., was born on June 7, 1914. He was a World War II veteran, married the love
of his life, Martha, and worked for McDonnell Douglas as a tool designer for
ten years. He was a self-made man. He began cycling at an early age and
acquired a love for this sport. Due to his love of cycling, he made a career
move that would impact his life forever. He started his own business, in his
later life, located in the South Bay area. John Sr. was the sole proprietor of
a bike shop and a prominent bicycle clothing company. We all know this business
as, Kucharik Bicycle Clothing.
John
Kucharik was at one time, in the 60s, a leader in the bicycle clothing
industry. He worked over fifty years in the industry, perfecting products that
are still used in todays times. His life was his work. He was preceded in
death, by his loving wife, Martha. He leaves a tremendous legacy, including a
son, John and a daughter, Debbie. He also leaves two lovely granddaughters,
Jennifer and Dana Kucharik. John Kucharik Jr. has been operating the business,
along with his Dad, for the last twenty years. |

Hotel and Camping
Information
Hotels are still available!
The car show
moved to Santa Maria, but we advise that you reserve a room ASAP. In protest,
there will be cars showing up in Paso Robles anyway. You can
find a list of
hotels on our web site. Call soon!
Camping and Hot Showers
We once
again have rented hot showers for your use while camping. If you are in an RV,
you can pay for a hookup which will include electricity. Water is available but
is not available at all the sites. Hookups are first come, first serve. If you
have never been to the Rally and do not know where the hookups are located, we
will have a map available at the fairgrounds.
Bananas on the BBQ - Deliciously Decedent
Sounds
and looks weird, but boy is this good stuff. We all need to carbo-load,
right?
Take a
banana, open it up but leave it in the skin. Put marshmallows and chocolate
chips on the banana, wrap in foil and put on the BBQ. Whoa, is it good.
PS: There are many variations including adding a bit of liquor.
Yummy! |
