Riders,
Announcements:
- Rod
Doty, after 12 years with the Rally, is stepping down. Thank you Rod for
continuing the Rally tradition. Now, Rod can attend as a participant and really
enjoy himself.
- Laurel
King is replacing Rod as co-director along with Sharon Ware. Laurel
has years of experience running and marketing bicycle tour and events. With
Sharon in Southern California and Laurel in Northern California, it's a perfect
combination to spread the word about the Rally.
- We have
a new website. Yahoo! ! Visit
www.GreatWesternBicycleRally.com
. We would appreciate any suggestions you may have. Our goal was to tell the
fantastic story that the Rally has, and we think it does. Pass the address on
to friends and invite them to come! Online
registration will open on January 1st.
New This
Year:
- Great
Western Century and Metric Century, Sunday, May 27th: Can only come for one
day? Try this supported ride with food rest stops and support on the road. The
ride finishes with an optional BBQ at the end and showers and camping are
available.
- Women's
Only Ride: Sponsored by Bicycle John's.
- Optional
Catered BBQ Sunday Night: Dine at the fairgrounds..... coals will still be
available for those of you that traditionally BBQ at the Annual
Cookout.

Marketplace Expo, Event Bags and Other Promotions:
The
GWBR is a terrific way to reach and market to a wide and varied bicycling
audience throughout California. Please
